New Orleans
So the GM conference this year is in New Orleans. I have to admit that I was not excited about coming here but it’s not so bad. I wish we had more time to sight see.

Weekend
Yet another uneventful weekend. Jake and I built a sub enclosure for my Infiniti yesterday with a little help from Greg. It was a simple project that turned out to be a big pain in the butt, although it looks good and I have a lot more trunk space now that it’s finished. Definitely makes me want to tackle doing one on in the Grand Prix soon, but not before it warms up some!
Today we watched Dexter for a while and then I did homework. I also did laundry. Exciting life I lead…
Turkey day
Happy Thanksgiving my ass…
Kentucky trip
The trip to Kentucky was nice. Arrived Thursday night around 7pm. Got food and groceries, then relaxed for the night. Friday, I did a little shopping while Mom was at work, and that night we went to dinner at El Bracero with Steph, Scott, Summer, Steve and Theresa, and Jamie and Brent. Saturday we went shopping in Clarksville – spent more money than I really wanted to, but that is part of vacation right?
Sunday we went to Jamie and Brent’s and played cornhole and roasted hotdogs and marshmallows. Afterwards my car battery died so I had to get a boost and buy a new battery at Advance Auto. Monday I didn’t do much of anything, then we went to eat with Jamie and Brent.
I got on the road around 9 this morning. Stopped in Jackson and had lunch at Chick-Fil-A as always. Made it home by 1:30 – super good time. Didn’t hit any rain on the way home, either. Did laundry and unpacked once I got here, and now I am relaxing before bed – not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow though.
Finally, a break
I worked night audit Wednesday night, on short notice. I came home Thursday morning and slept until 12:30 or so, and then got up and packed. I hit the road around 1:45 and the trip wasn’t so bad. So now I am in Kentucky until Tuesday.
We didn’t really do much last night – just went to eat and then went to Wal-Mart to pick up some groceries.
I’m just excited to have a break!
History has been made
Barack Obama has made history by being the first African-American elected as President.
I feel like a lot of people DID vote for him because of his race. I think just as many voted against him for the same reason. A lot of “closet racists” seem to have shown their true colors with this election, especially now that its outcome has been decided.
I for one think he has a fresh set of ideals and is more about the government helping its people than trying to be a world police agency. I think he is the leader we need, and I hope that he lives up to my beliefs.
All over the world, people are celebrating his election. To me, that shows that this is a change for the better.
His victory speech was moving, inspiring, and made me proud to be American for the first time in my life.
I can only hope that he is not held back by his party, and that he can accomplish what he has set out to do. I hope that some of the people who are so disgusted and appalled by his election will see that, after all, he’s not such a bad guy.
And most of all, I hope he can fix the mess this country is in right now.
